Josh and Ilise. No... Ilise and Josh. Had the fates of College Park, Maryland, predicted that one summer day in 1998 it would change the lives of this pair, a rainbow of flowers (much like the rainbow colors in Josh's belt that caught Ilise's eye) would have bloomed from the beaten dirt "lawns" of their respective run-down college apartments on the legendary Knox Road.

She, the atypical co-ed, a vibrant and adorably mini Marylander with sharp wit and a love of hip-hop music. He, of the New York attitude and unique style who uncannily coasted through school without ever attending a single lecture. After a few chance encounters they dated the summer of 1998, Josh's senior year. Josh graduated and moved on to conquer Silicon Alley during the great dot-com boom, and they parted ways. Ilise, a few years younger, worked on completing her education.
Fast forward two years to one spring day of Ilise's senior year: Josh stopped by Knox Road to visit friends during a business trip. The two spotted each other and the connection was rekindled, sort of. He gave her his card as a beacon of friendship when she moved to New York City for a summer internship.
That first summer in NYC, Ilise contacted Josh to see a familiar face in the big city, and on an intuition she couldn’t shake. (...A brown haired, hazel-eyed intuition named Josh.) After some time, it became apparent a strong connection was undeniable and they felt compelled to try again. This time, they had the benefit of being a little older, and just a little wiser. But equally charmed by each other.
The couple have rarely spent a day apart since. They moved in together in 2003 and are currently living in a loft apartment in SoHo, the perfect setting for this dynamic New York couple. On a glowing summer evening two days after Ilise’s birthday, Josh surprised her in a private room at one of their favorite restaurants, Lure, with a beautiful ring and proposed marriage. As the existence of this website attests, she accepted. With all that they have learned and shared with each other since the day they met, they begin the next phase of this life journey, one which they share wholly with their friends and family.
